Crafty’s Bar Crawl – 8/5 – 8/10 * SOME ARE CAMP Edition *

One of the funnest and most unique series or parties here in SF, doesn’t actually take place in SF at all. Once a year for a single weekend, Glamamore and VivvyAnne ForeverMORE bring their iconic club, CLUB SOME THING up to Guerneville, CA and literally take over the entire town for two nights. If you haven’t already booked a room, it will likely be tough to find anything still available as most everything has been booked for weeks. Five parties, two nights, one pool and countless freaks and queens ensure this weekend promises some of the best times you will have all year.

Crafty’s Late Night Picture Show

This week at my movie night I am showing one of my all time favorites ‘ A League of Their Own’ starring some amazing actors and actresses: Geena David, Rosie O’Donnell, Tom Hanks and of course Madonna. If you haven’t seen this film yet come down to Midnight Sun and watch it on the biggest projection screens in the Castro. I’ll buy you some peanuts and Cracker Jacks as the song suggests and as usual fresh popped popcorn and candy! *No cover – $2 call whiskey shots all night – Midnight Sun @ 4067 18th Street – Midnight(ish)*

PLAY WITH BEBE Trivia at Harvey’s

BeBe Sweetbriar hosts the Castro’s longest and I think right now ONLY trivia night. It takes place at popular local restaurant Harvey’s every Wednesday night. She’ll quiz you on a wide range of topics, if you don’t know the correct answer sometimes putting something that makes her laugh will still win you a prize! (shhhhh!) She gives away anything and everything from DVDs, CDs, tickets to shows etc. Play while you eat dinner or just come in for the game! *Harvey’s @ 500 Castro Street – 8PM*

Booty Call Wednesdays

Wednesday continues to be one of my favorite nights of the week to go out and party at Juanita‘s Booty Call at Q Bar. DJs this week include some good friends of ours, Robert Jeffrey and Side Kick. The photo back drop this week is designed by another buddy of mine, the extremely talented Joshua Barry. Photos by Shot In The City Photography. *Free before 10PM – Free shots before 11PM – Q Bar @ 456 Castro Street – 9PM*

My lovely drag mother Cookie Dough‘s show this week celebrates two classic movie musicals, Grease and Hairspray! This weeks show is also the farewell show of queen and gogo cutie Electra Sparks (Loren GleeIntern Gonzales). Some of this weeks guys and gals include handsome burlesque performer Bobby BarnabyLaundra TymeSugah Betes and many more! DJ MC2 spins before and after the show! Dean DizAster Leitner works the door. Miller Lite will be in the house again on Thursday hooking you up with tons of Britney Spears and Miller Lite giveaways, including a chance to win a trip for 4 to Las Vegas (hotel, airfare, admission to the show AND $1,000 spending cash!) * $5 cover – $5 Stoli cocktails all night – The Edge @ 4149 18th Street – 10:15PM *
SMUT is a new monthly show at the Lookout, the first Thursday of the month, started by my drag wifey and nightlife gnarling Jem Jehova. Jem is joined by VivvyAnne and Kitty von Quinn (Bernadette Harris) of Red Hots Burlesque. Drag doesn’t always have to be pretty! DJ Hokulani MamaSwamp Beale spins, Shot In The City Photography makes you look good on Facebook. *$5 cover – The Lookout @ 3600 16th Street – 10PM*
MANimal Fridays is the Castro’s hottest dance party. Some of the sexiest gogo studs and bar staff around. MANimal takes place at Beaux, which is the newest and most hi tech night club in the area. It’s been completely redesigned and remodeled into one of the nicest spots in all of SF. State of the art lighting and a top of the line sound system provide you with everything you need to dance the night away. *No Cover before 10PM – $2 drinks from 8:30PM-10PM – $5 Adios Motherfuckers – Beaux @ 2344 Market Street – 8:30PM*
For all you SOMA kiddies, this is where you should be on your Friday night. Hubba Hubba review is a burlesque/variety show over at one of the largest nightlife venues around, the DNA Lounge. The list of performers is some what overwhelming, so you can bet your money that this one will be a show you can’t miss. Arrive early to guarantee you get yourself a good spot. The box office opens at 9:30. *$15-$30 tickets – DNA Lounge @ 375 11th Street – 9:30PM*
Sweet Tooth
Daveed Varela, also known as the lovely and ever so talented Roxy-Cotten Candy recently had to move her monthly show to the second Saturday of the month, from Wednesdays due to popular demand! This drag show is a little bit different than the other drag shows in the Castro. First of all, there’s NO STAGE! These ladies do the entire show on top of the bar! Coyote Ugly style! She is joined each month by the yummy Au Jus & Maxine Padd with beats provided by DJ Bill Dupp. *No Cover! – $2 Vodka Gummi Bears – $2 Miller Lite – $4 Blue Moon – The Edge @ 4149 18th Street – 9PM*
Hell’a Tight has been going on for a couple of years now at Underground SF and always tends to be a ton of fun. You can’t go wrong with bubblegum pop!‎ Lindsay Slowhands turns the entire club into your junior high school bedroom with tons of posters, throw pillows AND lots of candy. There will be a couple of drag performances at midnight featuring Carnie Asada & Laundra Tyme (girl is WORKING!). Hair brushes to sing into will no be provided, please bring your own. *$5 Cover – Underground SF @ 424 Haight Street – 10PM*
The GlamaZONE is a weekly drag show hosted by Ms. Pollo Del Mar. She has a revolving cast of girls each week, many you can’t see anywhere else! Often times some Ru Paul’s Drag Race girls will pop into Pollo’s show and they aren’t always in face so keep an eye out! One of the cool things about this show is the stage is in the center of the room, so you get a 360 degree view of the queens as they perform. Check out the GlamaZONE’s page for this weeks performers! *The Cafe @ 2369 Market Street – 8:30PM*
Another weekly, Sunday night drag show, this one takes place in SOMA at Truck. It’s hosted by the legendary Suppositori Spelling. This ain’t your daddy’s drag show. This is where all the dark, gritty, nerdy queens go to perform and hang out. You never know what you’ll see at Cocktailgate. I once saw a performer walk on broken glass! Yeah, it’s that kind of show. Truck also happens to be one of my favorite spots in SF and I unfortunately don’t get to go as often as I’d like. Check them out and support these girls! *$4 Cover – Truck @ 1900 Folsom Street – 9PM*
