Crafty’s Bar Crawl – 8/11 – 8/17
Are you guys ready for this weekend?! Some of the biggest and best monthly parties in SF are all happening over the course of this next week, take a nap, have a Redbull and get ready to party!
Mahogany Monday’s is tonight and joining Ms Honey on stage this week is the lovely Laundra Tyme and Ferosha Titties. This is Laundra’s (My drag baby!) first time performing at Mahogany Mondays and I’m sure she will kill it as will our other two lovely performers. Laundra gave some sickening performances over the weekend and with all the bookings she’s getting lately she is definitely one to look out for if you want to see some fierce drag! So proud to be her papa! * $3 Cover – $5 Absolut cocktails all night (Don’t forget to try Honey’s two signature drinks! The Mahogany Mess and the Honey Mahogany!) – Midnight Sun @ 4067 18th Street – 10PM *
It’s a sad week here in San Francisco and around the nation as we’ve lost a comedic genius far too soon. Robin Williams has lived in the Bay Area for years and his movies has touched the hearts and funny bones of many. I scraped my original flick this week and have decided to pay tribute to Mr. Williams by screening what was likely the role of his lifetime, the classic, Mrs. Doubtfire. Not only was the movie shot right here in SF, but it was one of the first major motion pictures to showcase a man in a dress, before all this Big Momma’s House and Madea garbage. Robin will be sorely missed. * No cover – $2 well whiskey shots – Midnight Sun @ 4067 18th Street – Midnight *
This Wednesday Juanita is joined by DJs Bradley Portnoy (https://soundcloud.com/
Monster Show, which has been described by some as the Chuck E. Cheese of drag shows (because it’s always someone’s birthday!) celebrates the birth of the one and only Gliterella this week! And this week M.S. is going GOTH! The Cure, Bauhaus & Siouxsie Sioux are some of the artists that will be portrayed on stage by some of the city’s darkest queens. * $5 cover – $5 Stoli cocktails all night – The Edge @ 4149 18th Street – 10:15PM *
The biggest drag show around is this weekend with a Michael and Janet Jackson tribute! Very special guest Milk, from Ru Paul’s Drag Race will be in the house performing and for a meet and greet before the show. The biggest names in the city are all here each month and these girls pull out all the stops for you on one of the biggest stages in SF. Early arrival suggested as it is sure to be packed. * $15 General Admission – $20 Meet and Greet – DNA Lounge @ 375 11th Street – 9PM *
After an amazing weekend chock full or parties, drag and drunk swimming at SOME ARE CAMP up in Guerneville, the ladies of SOME THING are back in town for SOME THING Sexy! There’s a huge line up this week, so this show is not one to be missed! Come early for Try SOME THING where they give new performers a chance to take the stage and see if they have what it takes! * $8 cover – The Stud @ 399 9th Street – 9PM *
One of my favorite newer parties in SF is Dragula with the Boulet Brothers. I met these two last year at Palm Springs Pride when Heklina threw Daytime Realness down there at the lovely Alcazar. They’ve been doing Dragula in LA for a while now and a couple months back started bringing it here to SF and so far it’s been a big hit. Part drag show, part pageant, part dance party, there is something here for everyone. There’s also a $300 cash prize to the winner of the drag pageant! AND the lovely Detox from Ru Paul’s Drag Race will be in attendance, judging as she does so well! * $10 cover – The Eagle @ 398 12th Street – 9PM *
Speaking of sexy LA folk, my boo Haute Toddy will be in town this weekend for his monthly, Hard! Toddy recently moved to LA, but luckily for us he still comes up to spin at least once a month. He plays some of the best new music around and the classics to get your booty movin’. There will be sexy gogos up on the benches for you to oogle and strong drinks to keep you in the mood. *Q Bar @ 456 Castro Street – 9PM *
For all you daytime dancing queens, this week we have for you Daytime Realness! Another monthly by the lovely Heklina in conjunction with hottie spin masters DJ Carnitas and Stanley Frank. One of the only places you can party outdoors during the day and watch some amazing queens perform out on the back patio. Sneaky’s BBQ will be serving up some delicious meats while Vin Sol and Chipmint join our resident DJs to serve you some delicious beats. * $6 from 2pm-3pm $8 after – El Rio @ 3158 Mission Street – 2PM *
And that rounds out my top picks for the week kiddies! Be sure to check out the full event listings page each week for all events going on in SF!
